Service Employee – Field Service (Water Meter Replacement)


Are you looking for a practical, independent job where you are on the road and visit people at home? For a long-term project, we are looking for service-oriented employees to visit private homes and replace old water meters with modern ones. No technical background is required - you will receive full training and guidance.

About you

  • You are eager to learn, flexible, and able to work independently.
  • You understand the importance of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • You remain professional in stressful situations and know when to ask for support.
  • You speak Dutch at A2 level or higher
  • You speak sufficient to fluent English
  • You are available 32 - 40 hours per week
  • You have a valid driving licence (B)
  • You live above the line Haarlem - Amsterdam - Amersfoort - Zwolle
  • You are willing to obtain a VCA Basic certificate (or already have one)
  • Experience in a similar field service or technical role is a plus
  • You are customer-friendly and communicate clearly

The role

As a Service Employee in the field, you will visit several addresses per day. You work in private homes and replace a specific component in the meter cupboard: the water meter. Many homes still have an outdated system that needs to be upgraded to a modern meter. You work independently but are supported with training, clear procedures, and guidance from your project leader.

Your responsibilities

  • Visiting private homes according to the daily schedule
  • Replacing existing water meters with modern meters
  • Performing tests before and after replacement to ensure the system works according to applicable standards
  • Working safely and neatly in the meter cupboard
  • Using tools and personal protective equipment correctly
  • Taking photos before and after the work for documentation
  • Ensuring correct and complete administrative processing
  • Communicating in a customer-friendly manner with residents
  • Informing the project leader in case of stress or risk of stress during the work
  • Attending mandatory monthly training and toolbox meetings
