Working Together
SamenWerken MVO shows real jobs for asylum seekers, status holders, Wajongers, refugees from Ukraine, people over 50, young people without starting qualifications, and more.
A real job means a lot to people, a job means participating in Dutch society, meeting colleagues, building a network, having an income, being self-reliant, and as an extra for asylum seekers, status holders, and refugees from Ukraine, also getting to know the Dutch language and our culture (better).
Types of jobs
Many people find various (starter) jobs through SamenWerken MVO, for example, in a hotel or restaurant from dishwasher, service to chef de partie and from housekeeping, technical service to reception. Also in the professional cleaning and logistics sector, many people find a nice job from window cleaner to order picker. It is often about jobs where you can learn the tricks of the trade through dedication, hard work, learning together, and wanting to work.
Dutch and/or English language
Working together is also communicating together. It sounds very simple, but we also see this as the basis for being able to work. Speaking the Dutch and/or English language is a requirement for us to be able to work. Many people we help speak either Dutch and/or English, and those who do not yet, we encourage to invest time in their own language development. There are many opportunities to work on language development, language cafes in, for example, a (local) library, language apps like duocards, duolingo, (children's) books, and listening to Dutch music.
Dutch music
On Spotify, we have compiled a special "SamenWerken MVO" music list. Many asylum seekers, status holders, and refugees from Ukraine find this very useful. Choose one or more songs you like and read the lyrics while listening to the music. The playlist contains Dutch-language music and podcasts about the Dutch language. We have done our best to compile a list with diverse music styles, so you can always find a song that appeals to you. We will regularly update the list with new podcasts and songs.
